For this review, I chose my Spektrum DX9
transmitter, which quickly connected to the
Mustang by pressing the Bind button and
turning on the transmitter. You first power
up the Mustang by plugging in the battery
pack, and in a matter of seconds, the two are
happily talking to each other. All the onboard
electronics are factory installed as is the
brushless motor. ;e speed controller is built
into the installed 6-channel Ultra micro AS3X
receiver. All the 2.3g linear long-throw o;set
servos are also factory installed. ;e installed
180BL 3000Kv brushless outrunner motor
comes with the scale 4-blade propeller and
foam spinner already attached. ;e fixed
landing gear and steerable tailwheel are
removable if you want to fly from a grass
runway and simply belly in your landings.
Decked out in scale markings of “Gentle Annie,”
the model has molded scale parts including
gear doors, rugged foam tires, exhaust stacks,
a clear bubble canopy, and a foam pilot bust;
there are no flaps.
;e flight battery fits into a recess molded
under the front part of the wing. To charge the
battery, you’ll need to get a Celectra 2S 7.4V DC
LiPo balancing charger. ;e battery pack plugs
into the charger, but you will need to supply a
DC power cord or an AC 1.5A power supply that
