Quads on the Rise
U I loved your roundup of new quadcopters in
your May 2013 issue. I knew they were becoming
more and more popular, but I was really impressed
by how many ready-to-fly versions there are. I just
bought a Blade mQX and I just love it! Once I set it
up properly, I was zooming around like a champ.
It goes with me everywhere and it’s really an eye-opener for people who have never seen a quad fly
before. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your kind words, George. We will be sure
to forward them to John. He is a great pilot and one
of those few that enjoys sharing his knowledge with
others. His maneuvers are detailed and masterfully
illustrated in a “from the flightline” perspective by
FX Models’ Marc D’Antonio, who truly brings the
maneuvers to life. If you are interested in John’s
Thanks for the email,

putting the quadcopters
through their paces.
The technology has
matured very quickly

nothing short of amaz-

heavy lifters, quadcop-
ters are fun to fly and
here to stay. —GY

New Heli Section
U I have been flying
electric-powered helicopters for years. I
started out with nitro
burners but I switched
over pretty quickly
once the 450-size machines became available. I love
it that you started a new helicopter section in your
magazine. Please be sure to include some serious
designs along with the usual indoor minis that are
so popular these days. There’s a lot to get excited
about in the hovering world of RC!

Easy. The fourth in the series, this DVD includes
the E-flite Carbon-Z Yak 54 electric park flyer as
the demo plane! And does he wring it out! Thanks

Stephen, we agree that electric helicopters are exciting and growing very quickly in popularity. It was
only natural to collect all the information, tips, and
flight techniques from our contributors and make it
easy for you rotor heads to find! So, enjoy the ride.
It only gets better from here! —GY
Easy Aerobatics
U I eagerly await every issue of Electric Flight for
one reason—John Glezellis’ “Aerobatics Made Easy”
column. I was particularly glad to read his take on
the seemingly easy-to-execute “Two Consecutive
Inside Loops” maneuver. The illustrations provided
are very helpful as well. I read the article, study the
illustration, and then read it again. I then go to the
flying field and try to fly the maneuver! That’s when

I hadn’t seen the FPV goggles before this. Very cool idea. —Dan Trachsel
Great idea, great plane, great kids, and an outstanding video. No question who
