300X FBL
Blade/Horizon Hobby
;is flybarless machine is an easy upgrade
to 3D aerobatics! By Aaron Strietzel
With many 250- and 450-class
helicopters on the market, the
Blade 300X FBL falls right in the “in
between” category. Being a 300-
class, it has that bigger heli feel
compared to smaller machines, so it
will surely catch the eye of both the
intermediate pilot who has some
experience with collective pitch
helis, and the seasoned pro who’s
looking for a 3D-capable model.
With features like built-in BeastX
flybarless control, a Spektrum
AR7200BX receiver and included
charger, and 3S battery pack, this
helicopter is truly ready to fly when
it comes out of the box. A very
thorough manual makes setup and
programming to any DSM2 or DSMX
transmitter very straightforward
and only takes a few minutes.
SPECIAL HELICOPTER SECTION
;e Blade 300X has a well-constructed, plastic, two-piece frame that
comes assembled and with its electronics, motor, and speed control
installed. A very colorful plastic canopy, wooden main blades, and one-piece landing gear are included. ;e 300X’s low parts count makes repairs
and any upgrades easy to accomplish. If you’re an intermediate pilot who
wants to upgrade to a 3D model and sharpen your skills, the Blade 300X
is a great choice.
UNIQUE FEATURES
Since this is a BNF model, there was not much to do but open the box and
lift out a fully built helicopter! Upon inspecting the contents of the model,
I noticed that the packaging and box can also be used as a great carrying
case to toss in the car for some park flying during lunch when the “I need
a flying fix” urge occurs.
